Cavallino Bike Tour - Stone Guardians

The Via dei Forti tour winds through various military buildings, coastal batteries, and telemetric towers that composed Venice's defensive system during the First World War. And that's not all! The route will also take you to discover the lagoon environment with the new bike path suspended over the lagoon along the Pordelio canal. 

Views of the salt marshes, little egrets, oystercatchers, and other bird species will accompany us throughout the excursion to better understand this fragile ecosystem. At the end of the tour, we will visit the Amalfi Battery and the Vettor Pisani Battery Museum. The story of an identity and memory of a territory that played a fundamental role in protecting the Venetian lagoon during the First World War. Rich in relics, displays, and virtual and interactive supports, the museum is the heart of the Via dei Forti.

Please arrive 15min before the departure time. Bike rental is not included in the price.If you don't bring your own bike, you can rent a bike at the departure point, -€ 8.00 muscular, € 20.00 e-bike. This tour is not possible for children 0-9 years old, only +10 years old partecipants. In case of bad weather, the tour will be postponed to the following Saturday.

Wear comfortable clothing, comfortable shoes, and take with you insect repellent, sunscreen, hat, water, bike lock. If you don't have a bike, there is the possibility to rent one at the meeting point. Pets are not allowed. Wearing a helmet is recommended. During the excursion, photographs and video recordings could be taken for promotional and communication purposes. The route includes a visit to the Vettor Pisani Battery Museum (lasting about 1 hour).
